Storms & Hurricanes!

Yesterday a storm warning was declare for the western part of the country. A grade 2 (two) warning, on the the 3 grade scale. A 2 warning meaning a hightened risk for people to be injured and material things to get damaged.

Now, what really happened is that it was surely stormy and at times even hurricane winds, 32 m/s. Some people still have no electricity, trees have fallen over telephone- and electrical lines and a bridge had to be closed off because of the strong winds. Heard on the news this am that it isn't even getting a (female) name... So I guess it wasn't all that bad!

And now in Swedish for those of you who wish to indulge in "Svenska-lektioner":

Swedish lesson closed!

This weekend I am indulging in a couple of days on my own.
So what am I doing with this "free" time of mine? Well, I am reading alot: today I finished the second Odd Thomas book, which I enjoyed as much as the first one. The third I mean to finish tomorrow! And I am desperately googling for an ancestral chart - thought I would have one made for my gran who will be 95 in February. I know she would love that! She has been an great inspiration in my genealogy "quest" from the very beginning - and she has the memory of an elephant! Which I am truly thankful for. (For obvious reasons.)

So that is what I am off to - cheerio for now!

One quizz sufficed!

Weekend, Saturday; the laundry hung and the cleaning done (for today). Checked Cousin L's blog - quizzes - yesss. Let's do some! Did a few, but decided I didn't need to do more that this one. Ego THIS big now. Which is a good thing. Ego tends to dwindle sometimes.

According to this wonderful quizz this is me:

What Monica Means

You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.
You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want.
You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life.
You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you.
At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily.
You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.
A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

So where do I pay now???

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008!

I was reading Cousin Lori's blog just now and she is such a good, inspiring and fun writer - she gave me the giggles just now!! Thank you CL for brightening my day! I am also thankful that we found each other during our hunt for our ancestors! 2007 was a good year genealogy wise. A couple of new "cousins" was found; in Canada, Ohio, Massachusetts and California as well as here in Sweden. So maybe you are a relative too??? Go here and check it out. Hopefully in 2008 I will have new leads when it comes to my brick wall - gg uncle Oskar!

First day of work this year.
I will on this the very first day of work 2008 make a firm resolution that I won't get stressed over meaningless issues that I have no control over. No stress whatsoever would be fine with me! Not possible in this line of work, I know. But if I could I'd rather choose "good" stress over "bad". Second resolution for 2008 = use the GYM more!
